The objective of the project was to re-design the existing deionised water system in order to produce water that meets Delmar process water quality requirments. The scope of work included a survey of the existing deionised water distribution loop and deionised water generation system, an evaluation of the water balance and a survey of the production areas for best routing of the new deionised water loop. Process and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) of the deionised water system and a piping layout for the new deionised water loop has been prepared. Specifications were also prepared for deionised water piping, zero static diaphragm valves, flow meters, batch controllers and instrumentation. Part time supervision was carried out during the installation and start-up of the system.
