SSAB, a leading global producer of high strength steel, distributes and produces customised cut steel parts from a wide variety of plate sizes, specifications and grades.
FINTEX was given a mandate to evaluate the facilities existing dust collecting systems to improve plant air quality. The scope of this mandate included a review of the existing dust collection systems, assess building ventilation requirements, make recommendations for air quality improvement and evaluate project capital investment and operating costs.
The recommendations include the installation of two make-up air units to bring fresh air into the building and the use of a local extraction exhaust system on the plasma cutting tables to remove dust and fume at emission sources.
